GEO-AUTHENTICITY

We buy the best herbs from their indigenous regions to ensure that the proper climate, soil and water crucial to the content of active ingredients are present, as most herbs indigenous to one region cannot be properly grown in another. Our herbs are wild crafted or sourced from 52 GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) Farms when possible.

HARVESTING

Our herbs are harvested at the proper time to insure optimum potency of the active ingredients in each herb.

IDENTIFICATION

A Master Herbalist macroscopically examines the herbs to ensure they are the proper species and grade of herb that we desire, and that the herbs are from the highest quality of its species. Extra steps such as TLC tests and microscopic tests are also taken. The 2005 Chinese pharmacopoeia and European standards for each herb is the guideline employed.

PROCESSING

All herbs are furthered processed according to traditional techniques at a PIC/S (Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation / Scheme) GMP Certified Plant to ensure the highest effectiveness and decrease the potential of side effects. Herbs are carefully hand-sorted before packing to check for impurities. Moisture is well-controlled to prolong shelf life without the use of any preservatives like sulfuring and nitrogen dioxide.

TESTING

Each of our lab-tested herbs is dual- tested by both our supplier's in-house lab and an independent third party lab. These lab are equipped with instruments such as a high performance liquid chromatograph, moisture determination meter, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph, etc. Also, the following additional tests are performed: Microbacteria Pesticides - over 200 pesticides tested for (Uab 2000 screen). Heavy Metals - Lead, Mercury and Arsenic

tablets and powders. We at Sacred Leaves Botanicals believe that liquid extracts are the best format to offer our superior formulas. There are a number of reasons that we favor delivering our products in liquid form:

The Human Body Absorbs Liquids Efficiently The most important benefit of using liquid herbal extracts is that they do not require digestion. Liquid extracts can be absorbed into the system directly and bypass the digestive process. This is a faster and more efficient method to get the medicinal herbal components into the system.

Taking Drops is Easier Many people avoid consistently taking vitamin and herbal supplements simply because they do not like to swallow capsules or tablets. Using liquid herbal extracts allows you to avoid swallowing capsules while still getting the benefit of consuming the herbs. It is easier and faster than capsules or tablets.

Tasting the Herb Can Aid Effectiveness
Studies have shown that the sensory experience of taste directly effects human physiological functions. The experience of taste is not merely for enjoyment purposes but my contribute to facilitating healing and strengthening bodily processes. When a taste is perceived by the taste buds on the tongue, neurotransmitters are released into nervous tissue fibers that result in signaling the medulla of the brain. In the case of tasting something ‘bitter’ once this initial signal from the tongue reaches the medulla, a nerve impulse is then initiated which results in an increase in gastric, pancreatic, gallbladder, and liver secretion. Liquid Extracts Last Longer Herbal extracts have a long shelf-life. Extracts containing alcohol can maintain potency at a shelf life of up to 5 years. While those containing no alcohol, mainly glycerites, may be used up to 3 years at consistent potency. This contrast with some herbal capsules containing dried herbs which may lose activity potential a year or so after production. Shelf-life potency is important to consider if you purchase and store herbs for consumption at a later date or over a considerable period of time.
